Joe Dickey
Joe Dickey, has had a long and varied career in the entertainment industry. He says he’s just like everybody else in Southern California—singer, actor, writer, producer, and, oh yeah, a Retreat President. His performances in nightclubs, studios, stadiums, theaters, and churches throughout the country have placed him in front of almost 7,000,000 people. He has written for PBS stations, penned speeches and special material for live shows and telethons, composed many songs, and produced acclaimed motivational cassette programs. Currently, he is a member of two singing groups -- the Crew Cuts (Sh-Boom and Earth Angel) and The Four Preps (26 Miles Across the Sea). A graduate of Emory University, he resides in Simi Valley, California with his wife, Mary Morrissey, 16-year-old daughter, Blaine, and 12-year-old son, Bridges. Joe has attended the Retreat every year since 1982, serving as Music Director since 1983, as a Board member since 1984, and as President since 1999. He and Mary were married in June of 2007.
Carmen Brocklehurst
Carmen Brocklehurst is an accredited T'ai Chi Chih, Seijaku and Meditation instructor, as well as an ordained Minister of Divine Science. Her 13-part T'ai Chi Chih series continues to be shown on PBS stations throughout the country. She is a founding Board member of the Albuquerque T'ai Chi Chih Center where she teaches classes for all levels of students. Carmen has a Masters degree in Education from the University of New Mexico and teaches for corporations and retreats, including the New Mexico Governors Conference. She has served on the Board of this Retreat since 1990, currently as Vice President. Carmen is among the longest-attending members of the Retreat, missing only a few after first attending in 1977. She and her husband, Brock, a Lifetime Member of the Retreat, live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Barbara Resendez
Barbara Resendez a Board member since 1997, enjoys her ninth year as Executive Director of the Big Sky Retreat. Multifaceted, she is currently working in the financial field as a wealth strategist and mortgage consultant, as well as marketing health and relaxation products, and promoting an environmentally-friendly fuel product in Denver, Colorado. She has taken up sailing, and in her spare time you’ll find her on the dance floor—dancing! She became a true devotee of this Retreat the first year she attended in 1992, and hasn’t missed one yet.
Rev. Howard Caesar
Rev. Howard Caesar has been the Senior Minister of the Unity Church of Christianity in Houston, Texas since 1983, currently leading three Sunday worship services for over 2,000 attendees. He is a member of the Board of Preachers at the Martin Luther King Chapel at Atlanta’s Morehouse College, a founding member of the Leadership Council of the Association for Global New Thought (AGNT), and recognized as one of the foremost leaders and speakers in New Thought. Howard served on the Board of the International New Thought Alliance (INTA) for eleven years, and the Association of Unity Churches for seven years. In 1997 he received the Voice of Unity award for his excellence in twenty years in radio and television outreach. After first attending in 1985, Howard has served on the Board of this Retreat since 1986. He and his wife, Diane, live in Sugarland, Texas.
Dr. Sheldon Deal
Dr. Sheldon Deal is the owner-director of the Swan Clinic of Natural Healing in Tucson, Arizona, and has written several popular books on nutrition and natural methods of healing. His innovative views of healing are widely quoted. Sheldon always brings new and fresh ideas on the way we look at our bodies and how we learn to live in them. His knowledge of Applied Kinesiology and his ability to teach new techniques makes him world renowned. He has lectured throughout Europe, Russia, and Australia for twenty-two years. With his wife, Cindy, Sheldon has been a staunch supporter of the Retreat since 1981. He joined the Retreat Board in 1999.
Rev. Charles Geddes
Dr. Charles is a founding member and current Treasurer of the Big Sky Retreat. This is his 37th year in ministry. He is now Co-Pastor of Religious Science - Fort Lauderdale with Dr. Arleen Bump. For eight years, his ministry included co-founding and serving an HIV support group in California. Charles also established the Phoenix Bridge Program in Religious Science International (RSI) to support ministers in transitional periods of their ministry, and served on the RSI Board of Directors as Chair of Ethics. In 2004 he was voted RSI Minister of the Year and was acknowledged with an Honorary Doctorate for his contributions to RSI.

Kathleen Vogt
Kathleen Vogt, absent from Big Sky this year, became a regular attendee
in 1979 and joined the Board in 1999. She serves as our main Book Store
manager, and is responsible for the Retreat database throughout the year. A
Minister for 25 years, Dr. Kathleen has served United Church in several
capacities: Ecclesiastical Officer of District IV, member of the Education
Committee, member of the International Board of Trustees, and President of
United Clergy twice. She was an Assistant Minister at Mile Hi Church and Dean
of Holmes Institute, Denver, for sixteen years. She resides in Golden,
Colorado. |
