A Unique Experience:
No other metaphysical Retreat comes close to creating the intimate and profound experience known as the Big Sky Retreat. It is a holistic experience that nurtures the whole Self — mind, body, heart, and soul. Whether you are just beginning your study of this philosophy or are a licensed teacher or minister, you will receive great value from this annual Retreat.

Only at Big Sky do you have the opportunity to sequester yourself with a dozen leading teachers and fewer than 200 participants for five days of personal renewal and spiritual growth. In addition to the spiritual nourishment, you'll enjoy the humor and music that lighten every day of this remarkable Retreat. It is truly a unique experience! It is the Retreat's intimacy that makes Big Sky such a transforming experience for those who attend it. The best testimonial to its effectiveness is the large number of participants who return year after year — some of them since it began in 1976.

A Spiritual Retreat:
Early risers may see moose on their morning walk before joining the “Salute to the Day” followed by T’ai Chi Chih. The rest of the day entails a morning and an afternoon workshop plus an evening speaker with ample leisure time scheduled between sessions. Before going to bed, many participants like to gather informally for some socializing. This is a great opportunity to deepen your connection with fellow participants and make life-long friends.

A Phenomenal Setting:
Big Sky Resort is located on a mountain one hour northwest of Yellowstone National Park. Driving in from the Bozeman airport or from your home, you travel along the Gallatin River, which you'll recognize from the movie, “A River Runs Through It.” During the Retreat you will have a chance to fly fish, take a rafting trip, hike, ride the gondola up the mountain, golf, ride horseback, go mountain biking, or work out in the Resort's health club. You'll also enjoy the Resort's several indoor/outdoor hot tubs and pools. A free afternoon encourages you to enjoy Big Sky’s amenities any way you desire.

Meals

There are many choices of when and where to eat during the Retreat. Complete breakfast buffets are offered each morning in the Lodge dining room. There are several places within walking distance or an easy drive, either in the Lodge area or down the mountain at the village of Big Sky. For dinner, there are several nearby gourmet restaurants which offer a wide selection to suit any taste. Maps will be provided at registration.

Dinner Saturday evening, lunch Tuesday noon, and breakfast Thursday morning are all included in your Retreat package.

Each room in the Huntley Lodge has a coffee maker, complimentary coffee, and a mini-refrigerator. There is a small local grocery store about 10 minutes away.

What to wear

Wherever you go and whatever you do in this part of the country, casual dress is accepted, even encouraged. We do suggest a sweater or jacket for early mornings and cool evenings. Some of us even appreciate having our hats and mittens, as it has been known to get into the 20's overnight. Bring your shorts for daytime activities such as tennis or hiking, a swimsuit for the pools and spas, hiking boots, and clothing which dries in a hurry for the optional whitewater raft trip. Some folks bring more dressy attire for the final evening's musical gala. At this time of year, the days are typically warm and sunny, 70-80 degrees, and when the sun goes down it gets much cooler. Big Sky Resort sits at 7500 feet elevation.

Other items to consider bringing are binoculars, water bottle, day pack, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
