We examine how to get the most from the foods we choose, as we take a closer look at carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. This class assists people in understanding the undisputed importance of a healthy diet.
  2. Eating healthy - On the go: This is a favorite among many! As we scurry through our busy days, many of us neglect our bodies, filling it with fast junk foods. In this class, people will learn how to choose convenience foods without sacrificing taste or health.
  3. Delicious, Sweet, and No Guilt! This is a fun class in which we learn about using natural alternatives to refined white sugar and flour in baking, as well as baking for those with allergies.
  4. Fats, Fiber, and Cholesterol: Exploring the myths and the magic: This is a wonderfully valuable class for anyone who is concerned about high cholesterol or heart disease, as well as for those who want to understand what all the talk is really about. Together, we learn about: a) different kinds of fats, why fats are necessary, and how they affect us, b) fiber - why we need it and how to get more of it, and c) cholesterol - what it is and where it comes from.
  5. How to Have More Energy: This class examines several questions that a person might ask themselves if they find they are chronically tired and their physician can find no cause. This class explores tips for feeling good and having more energy throughout the day.
  6. Healthy Balanced Menus: This is the perfect class for discovering ways to plan healthy, balanced menus for yourself or your family. Learn about legumes and whole grains and incorporating them into healthy meal planning. Creating healthy balanced menus are essential for family meal planning and don’t have to take up a lot of time.
  7. Organic Foods and Natural, Chemical Free Foods: Learn all about healthful, organic and chemical free foods, the process of certifying organic foods, the foods most likely to be contaminated with pesticides and how you can choose alternatives, as well as how to choose a diet that is free of artificial chemicals, dyes, colorings, and additives.
  8. Weight Loss Tips: This is a class that primarily focuses on specific techniques to assist the body in gradual, steady weight loss without compromising good nutrition. This class can also be an 8-week one-hour seminar series where together we will focus on balanced good nutrition for healthy, steady weight loss. Includes handouts, recipes, tips and information.
  9. Cooking Demonstrations: Want your office to smell wonderful around lunchtime? This is the perfect class for such a treat. Beginning with a half hour lecture and then a cooking demonstration, this is always a success!! I will prepare a delicious, healthful dish for everyone to try. I bring my own electric wok and all of the utensils I need. Recipe always included.
  10. Natural Health and Healing: This is a class designed for those who are interested in complementary medicine. We will focus on some of the most common herbs, homeopathic remedies, and dietary ways of treating many non-serious health complaints.
  11. Healthy Kids: In this class, we will cover the basics for feeding your growing children a healthy diet. We’ll talk about balancing meals, healthy snacks, children and sugar, and what to avoid.
  12. Why Diets don’t Work: This is the perfect class for the yo-yo dieter or anyone discouraged after trying to diet. Diets often fail us by overly restricting us in our food choices. Learn why these diets don’t always work and how you can determine the right diet for your body type.
  13. Easing Your Way Through Menopause and Perimenopause: This is a great class for women wanting to find natural relief for the variety of symptoms they may be experiencing as they transition to and through menopause. We will look at healthy fats, working with your doctor to use natural hormones, choosing a diet that can help you find relief, and taking supplements for support. We will also cover excellent resource books that are available on this subject.
  14. Preventing Heart Disease: We will examine a healthy diet and lifestyle that can help reduce the chances of heart disease. This class also covers holistically understanding and treating the symptoms and the causes. We will examine cholesterol, fats, fibers, and exercise, as well as stress reduction.
  15. Healthy Holiday Eating/How NOT to Gain Weight During the Holidays: Celebrate the holidays without guilt and without weight gain. Learn about what to watch out for during the holidays and how to avoid common eating problems. Have fun choosing delicious foods while learning to balance your choices for good health during the holidays.
  16. Spring-Cleaning for Your Body: This class is for those people wanting to begin a regimen of healthy eating for the spring. We will examine what foods support natural cleaning of the body, what foods to avoid, and also examine natural supplements and teas to aid in this process.
  17. Herbs & Vitamins: This class examines supplementing your diet with vitamins and herbs. We will discuss antioxidants, using vitamin supplements, and using herbs safely.
  18. Alternative Remedies/Using Foods for Natural Healing: A very popular class! Learn about non-traditional ways of treating non-serious illnesses. We will talk about herbs, vitamins, homeopathy, Oriental and Indian medicine, as well as using foods you normally keep in your kitchen to promote good health.
