how i work

Costs

Lessons range from:

  1. $50.00 per hour in my home in Elgin, TX
  2. Double that price if I come to your home in the Austin or Bastrop Texas areas, and
  3. $75.00 per hour when I travel to my studio on Bainbridge Island, WA.

All prices are based on 1 hour lessons, but I am happy to extend our time together based on your individual needs and desires.

Price changes will be announced at LEAST one month prior to the change, allowing all students to pay ahead at the old cost as desired. Payment is due at the end of each lesson, unless previously agreed upon by both parties involved. (See how much fun this is? we are already partiers!)

Commitments

After the first lesson, which will be to decide if I really am the right teacher for you, and that we are comfortable together, At least a three month commitment is suggested to give us both time to see the changes that you and I are both looking for. Everybody’s practice expectations will be tailored to their personal needs and schedules.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel a lesson, please do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled time, or you will be charged for that lesson. If I cancel in less than the same 24 hour required time, your following hour will be my treat. Mutually respecting each other’s time is simply a must, so no exceptions will be allowed for either my student or your teacher/coach.

Items Needed

Everyone will be asked to purchase a small, easy to use recording device which we will use during lessons. These are for YOUR use only (and may also be played back at key points in the lesson) and are to help all students to hear themselves as other’s hear them. If anyone feels uncomfortable being recorded at any time, we will simply turn off the recorder and use it at another time. You may purchase these directly from me if you like. These run between $25 and $40, depending on the vendor.

        -Singing Voice Students

You will also be asked to purchase very little in the way of music books. There may be a music fundamentals book, and staff paper both for practice and music reading purposes. As techniques and expertise increase, one book of Italian Arias may also be required, as Italian is much more conducive to correct singing than is one’s native tongue. Don’t worry, you do not need to learn the languages you sing, you only need to sound as though you do! Please do not purchase these books if you do not already own them, as your range and resonance will be assessed prior to any purchase.

        -Transgender Voice Makeover Students

Some Classical singing and breathing techniques will be used to strengthen the new range of those who wish their voices to match their inner identities. Articlation, phrasing and melodic intonation are part of your training. We will move no faster than is comfortable for each individual, and all privacy will be respected.
